Furniture Assembly in Stratford-upon-Avon

Got a wardrobe, bed, chest of drawers or desk still in its boxes? I can put it together carefully, adjust the moving parts and help get the room usable again. The photos here show other storage work I've built, not flat-pack furniture.

The practical bits

Typical jobs

Not an exhaustive list. If your job sounds similar, send me a photo and I'll take a look.

  • Wardrobes
  • Beds
  • Chests of drawers
  • Desks
  • Fixing tall furniture to the wall
  • Adjusting doors and drawers

More than getting the pieces together

Flat-pack furniture can look nearly finished while still sitting out of square. Drawers then catch, or wardrobe doors refuse to line up. I take the time to assemble it in order, check how it sits and adjust the doors or drawers once the main unit is together. Let me know the make and model, how many items there are and whether everything is still boxed, partly built or already in use.

If you're after something made for an alcove or a sloping ceiling rather than a packaged unit, that's fitted shelving and storage.

A sensible place for tall furniture

Wardrobes and tall drawer units need particular thought about where they stand. I can fix tall furniture to the wall as part of the assembly, using fixings suited to the wall. Please point out anything you know about the wall construction when you message me. It's also helpful to check that the boxes can reach the intended room and that there's enough clear floor space to put the item together.

If several smaller tasks have built up around the room, my handyman jobs page explains how to send them together.

Moving in or getting a room ready

A new let, a move or a room change often leaves several beds, desks or storage units waiting at once. Send me a list rather than separate messages for every box, and say which pieces need to be ready first. Product links or photos of the packaging are useful for understanding the size and type of each item. If a unit has already been assembled but a door or drawer needs adjusting, include a close-up of the problem.

I'm a handyman in Stratford-upon-Avon and also cover the nearby towns below. A short WhatsApp message is the easiest way to find out if I can fit your assembly job in.
