Warwick's older homes can have uneven walls, awkward alcoves and doors that don't quite behave. I work on fitted storage, kitchen finishing and everyday repairs around the town centre, Emscote, Woodloes and Warwick Gates. It's a short drive from Stratford, so just send me the details of what you need.
A lot of the houses in and around Warwick town centre have been standing for a long time. Walls are rarely straight, floors slope, and the alcoves either side of a chimney breast are never quite the same size. That's where made-to-measure carpentry earns its keep. Off-the-shelf shelving and cupboards tend to leave gaps, so I measure, scribe and cut everything to the actual shape of the room.
Doors are another common one. After a damp winter, or once new flooring goes down, internal doors start catching on the frame or the carpet. Usually it's a case of planing, rehanging or adjusting the hinges and latch rather than replacing the whole door. If a new one is needed, I'll hang it properly and fit the handles and latch so it closes cleanly.
On the newer developments like Chase Meadow, Warwick Gates and Heathcote, the jobs are different. Builder-grade finishes start to show their age, the space under the stairs goes to waste, and there's often a bedroom or landing with nowhere to put things. I build fitted wardrobes, under-stairs storage and alcove shelving, finish off kitchen worktops and cabinet doors, and box in pipework so a room finally looks finished.
Most of the handyman jobs I do in Warwick start with a short message: a curtain pole that's come away, a cupboard door that won't line up, a skirting board that's been knocked loose. On their own they're quick, but they add up. If you've got a few of them, send them over together and I'll try to get through them in one visit.
I also take on small building and repair jobs that bigger firms tend to pass on, such as patching up after a fitter has been, repairing a damaged step or threshold, or putting right something that was never quite finished. If it's more than I can sensibly take on, I'll tell you.
Carpentry is the main part of what I do. In Warwick that might mean alcove shelving in a town centre terrace, a fitted wardrobe in Chase Meadow or new boards and trim after building work. Have a look at my carpentry work for more examples.
Outside, I do decking installation and repairs, from a small seating area to replacing boards that have gone soft or started to lift. A photo of the space with rough measurements is usually enough for me to give you an idea of what's involved.
Alongside the carpentry, I do a handful of small plumbing jobs that often get left because they're too small to book a plumber for. That includes tap replacement and fixing minor leaks under sinks, toilet and cistern repairs, washing machine and dishwasher installation where the supply and waste are already in place, and silicone resealing around baths, showers and sinks.
I'm a handyman and carpenter, not a plumbing company, so I stick to these smaller repairs and installs. You can read more on my small plumbing jobs page. No gas or boiler work. I don't work on boilers, heating systems, gas appliances or gas pipework – that needs a Gas Safe registered engineer.
I work right across Warwick, including the town centre, Emscote, Myton, Woodloes Park, The Cape, Packmores, Chase Meadow, Warwick Gates and Heathcote, as well as nearby villages like Barford and Hampton Magna. I'm based in Stratford-upon-Avon, so Warwick is only a short drive away – you can see more of my work on my Stratford-upon-Avon handyman page. If you've also got a property in Leamington, I cover that too – have a look at my handyman work in Royal Leamington Spa.
Nearby, I also work in Stratford-upon-Avon, where I'm based, handyman in Royal Leamington Spa and handyman in Kenilworth.
Take a couple of photos, add a line about what needs doing and whereabouts in Warwick you are. I'll get back to you with whether I can help and an honest idea of the cost.

I'm used to older houses with uneven walls, original skirting and doors that have moved over the years. If your home is listed, it's worth checking with the council what consent is needed first, and I'm happy to talk through what's involved.
