I help with carpentry and household jobs in Southam and the villages around it. If you have a few things to sort, send me the whole list with photos on WhatsApp. I’ll let you know what I can take on together.

Southam is a bit further from my base in Stratford, so I find it works best when jobs are grouped into one visit. Send the whole list with photos and I’ll say what’s realistic.
A loose fitting, a shelf that needs putting up and a door that catches might each be a small job, but together they make a useful visit. Because I’m coming from Stratford-upon-Avon, it helps to know about the full list at the start rather than finding the other jobs once I arrive. You don’t need to write a detailed specification: a numbered list and a photo of each job is enough to begin. If there are several doors or cupboards, say which photos go with which room.
For shelving, carpentry or boxing-in, include rough sizes and a wider photo of the surrounding space. Let me know about anything that could affect access, such as a narrow staircase, a room that isn’t ready yet or parking that’s difficult near the house. That helps me judge what might fit into one visit and what needs more thought. My small handyman jobs page has more on putting a list together. I’ll be straight with you if a trip for one tiny fix doesn’t make sense on its own.
Moving into a newer home often leaves a list of finishing jobs once the bigger work is done. Pipework may need boxing-in, skirting might need finishing, cupboard doors may need adjusting, or a worktop edge might need attention. They’re the details you notice when you start using the rooms every day. Send me photos showing both the detail and the wider area so I can see how the finish needs to meet what’s already there.
There’s often furniture to put together at the same time, especially when you’re setting up bedrooms or a home office. I can help with flat-pack wardrobes, beds, drawers and desks; send the product details if you have them, along with a photo of the room where they’ll go. You can read more about home repairs and finishing and furniture assembly. If you’re unsure whether a particular job belongs on the list, include it in your message and I’ll take a look.
In older properties around Southam town centre and the surrounding villages, the challenge can be less about finishing a new room and more about fitting something to a room that has changed over time. A door catches because the frame is no longer quite square; a freestanding cupboard leaves space unused beside a chimney breast; a shelf needs to meet a wall that isn’t straight.
That’s where measured, made-to-fit carpentry can be useful. I can look at alcove shelving and other practical storage, as well as doors and smaller timber repairs. A photo taken straight on is helpful, but one from further back shows me the shape of the room. If a floor slopes or a wall has an awkward corner, point it out in your message. I’d rather understand the space before suggesting what might work.
I cover Southam town and nearby villages including Long Itchington, Harbury, Stockton, Napton-on-the-Hill and Ladbroke. I’m based in Stratford-upon-Avon; here’s my page for handyman work in Stratford-upon-Avon. I also cover Royal Leamington Spa and Warwick.
If you’re outside Southam itself, mention your village when you get in touch. Send photos and a short description of every job you’d like me to consider, even if some seem minor. Grouping them in one message lets me see what’s involved before making a trip and tell you whether the work could sensibly be done together. I’ll let you know if I can help and give you an idea of the cost.
Nearby, I also work in Stratford-upon-Avon, where I'm based, handyman in Royal Leamington Spa and handyman in Warwick.
Take a couple of photos, add a line about what needs doing and whereabouts in Southam you are. I'll get back to you with whether I can help and an honest idea of the cost.
